2025 NOTES

This was the first (and perhaps only) album that I sat on for a few days after finishing it, because I thought it would be neat to release on leap day.

The VST usage (present in the intro and the outro) is slightly more musical this time, although still done without a proper MIDI controller.

The remainder is all piano from that old RadioShack keyboard, mixed and arranged in Audacity. There were to be a couple of things on the next album that were recorded on this keyboard even earlier than this album, but this was the last album that was recorded primarily on this keyboard.

I remember thinking, at the time, that this was my first attempt at "serious" music, whatever that means. It probably just means "mostly piano".

A few things I remember from the production of this album: There are edits all over this album, and I tried to hide a lot of them, but I do remember that I took care to not have any edits right at the boundaries between the first three tracks, in order to sort of force them to be more continuous movements. Four of the tracks were recorded with the keyboard's default of panning the low notes to the left and the high notes to the right, to simulate the sound to you, the player, of sitting at the piano. But I reversed the stereo tracks in "The Other Half".

The title of the first track was about as overtly as I was comfortable acknowledging a particular aspect of myself at the time.
