2025 NOTES

This was the first proper album-that-was-conceived-as-an-album that I ever released. Most of the sounds came from the same RadioShack keyboard as on "Piano-Conveyed", again piped into my laptop's line-in jack and recorded in Audacity, where the mixing and layering happened. In order to hear what I had previously recorded at the same time as hearing what I was currently playing without latency, I used a signal splitter plugged into the headphone jack of the keyboard, with one of the outputs going to earbuds I was wearing, and the other output going to the laptop, and then the output from the laptop went to some cheap Walkman-type squishy foam headphones that I wore over the earbuds.

This was an unrefined, throw-everything-at-it album, and finally gave a home to a few riffs that had been bouncing around in my head for years. A couple of bits of noise came from VSTs, which I was starting to dabble with late in this album's production. Some stuff was recorded off the radio on an MP3 player that had a built-in tuner. Some stuff was from a cassette recording of me playing Commander Keen in 1994. The most regrettable samples were of me reading a bad poem I had written, and from the pornographic CGI film "The Princess Has Come of Age". My favorite samples were recorded from "Coast to Coast AM" in the wee hours of March 24, 2011.

It's hard for me to pick out now which tracks I consider the highlights. My main impression of this album is the memory of how novel it felt to be working on it.
